禪與老莊
「本來無一物，何處惹塵埃？」由慧能開創出來的中國禪宗，實已脫離印度禪的系統，成為中國人特有的佛學。本書以客觀的方法，指出中國禪和印度禪的不同，並且正本清源，闡明禪與老莊的關係，強調禪是中國思想的結晶，還給禪學一個本來面目。
浙江青田人，1939年生。國立臺灣師範大學國文系學士，中國文化大學哲學碩士，國家文學博士。曾先後擔任中國文化大學哲學系所、美國加州萬佛城法界佛教大學中國哲學系主任。現任美國加州整體學研究學院亞洲比較研究所教授，專授《易經》、儒家、道家、禪宗及中國哲學史等課程。著有《逍遙的莊子》、《中庸誠的哲學》、《哲學演講錄》、《公案禪語》、《中國哲學史話》（與張起鈞合著）、《新譯老子解義》、《新譯莊子內篇解義》、《生命的轉化》、《生命的哲學》等中文著作二十餘冊，並有《老子翻譯》、《禪心》、《中國哲學的術語》、《關心茶》、《易經與易德》等英文著作五冊。
